something like when they standstill they become clouded? like a camelion skill? sounds kinda like a stance dont you think? how about this:
Camelion
stance - The ranger mix with the background and become invisable. this stance ends when the ranger moves, attack or use skills.
Hidden shadows
enchantment - aslong as you maintain this skill, you are hidden in the shadows and become invisable.
when this enchantment ends shadowstep to taget enemy or ally.
this enchantment ends when you attack or use a skill.
I like that, how about an item that you held that turns you invisible if you stand still for more than 5 seconds?
But if you turn invisible when an enemy can see you it doesn't work.
Alteas Ashes
item spell. hold alteas Ashes for 30-300 seconds. while holding Alteas Ashes you turn invisable if you stand still for 5-1 seconds and are not the target of an enemy.
yeah kinda but you can't do it in the middle of an enemies aggro range.
That would be the elite, there coulod be a standard one where you can't move at all but can use when less than 1-4 enemies are in the area
totally agree, maybe some camouflage unless they have snake vision or heat vision or something, scent...
also check my topic about assassins and spider climb, maybe others complain about the time aqn effort needed to put into it, but the game is still in development, why not have an assassin able to climb walls and ceilings combined with this "stealth" idea?
after all its got anew Z and Y Axis...put a whole new meaning to Falling Spider attack?.
how about rangers are camouflaged with surroundings then the description.
the assassins skill hidden shadows will do its desription but an add on effect...if light touches you while in shadows your effect is negated..
also check my posts on the assassin skills(if assassin is in the game)
i posted about skills that allowed an assassin to execute certain kills allowing him to cling to 90* walls and any degree ceilings. this would add on to YOUR post(assassins only) making it where a skill is used the effect is drained... plz vote for my post as i did yours!
No. You die because you play like a warrior and don't know when to run. Seriously. Invisibility is a bad game function, unless, like you said, there were nothing around. And in that case, what's the point? I pray to ANet that they won't have sins in GW2, and I don't know if they will since Rangers can work with daggers now too. Invisibility has no place in the game at all, same as invulnerability like the old Shadow Form and the new Aegis.

i think i'd add: this skill is cencled if any enemy unit are in the area.
or alternetively make it easy to interupt?

Invisibility is not an acceptable game mechanic, guys. -_-
I'll have to disagree, i think it is acceptable as long as your cant attack while being hidden.
yeah i think you die too easily as an assasin ( i do anyway) they need some else to help them
