#64 Audible Commands and Actions
Include a feature which allows you to make audible commands with a key stroke, simular to many shooter games.
Since voice chat can cause many complications, and not everyone has a mic setup, this can be a great way to include audible content without voice chat.
Basicly it operates by selecting an audible command key, and a number, 0-9, more commands can be triggered with a secondary audible command key and numbers 0-9.
Example: Press Audible Command key and than 1, your character says "Advance", press Audible Command and 2, your hear "Friendly Fire" (I hope we have it in GW2), hit 3 and you get "Scramble", hit 6 and you get "Retreat", 7 and you get "Rally to Me"(or selected target). You get the idea. This is a great alternative if voice chat is not functional, or even in cooperation with voice chat.

Agreed. A couple additions:
1. I would vote to make this feature a reward to player longevity, and tie certain emotes to classes. (Eg, Healers might be able to say "Get over here for a heal!")
2. You could also tie these commands to the map, so directional commands like 'Get over here!' would make more sense.
For example, You shouting "Fall back with me!" Could highlight the player icon and show an indication on the map.
I like this idea because even voice chat can't quickly convey directional requests that would be obvious in real life.
Well the directional and map signalling is already a feature in the game, with targetting players can direct attack or declare an ally.
I don't believe it's something that should be earned up though, like many abilities, this is a system which will have to be learned, it may sound great, but even in Counterstrike, I have a hardtime utilizing these features, trying to keep them until later in the game just means they will have to start learning their use later.
doesnt getting vent just give you more freedom?
why bother having you voice binded to 9 simple keys?
if GW is an age 13+ game anyway why not just give each player a cheap mic and create offical GW vent servers?
Because a game should be self sufficient, and some ppl arn't willing to use third party program, but most of all, it can be hard to distinguish wat someone is saying in a frantic battle, instead of people shouting and confusing random phrases, using standardized messages which not only show up in txt on the chat log, but on audio, and in a specific format your prepared to respond too.
Also more than anything else, hearing peoples voices in a game is often unwelcome to the fantasy setting, breaking the suspension of disbelief.
In alot of ways it is better, it is much more feasible to fit into the actual game program than a voice communication program and more desirable in some ways.
yeah this would be great like instead of hearing a ping when you target you hear "Target him!!!" or if you ping your health you yell "Heal me!!!" or target the ground and your character yells "Over there!"
Also if they added this feature to emotes it would add MASSIVE depth to the game!
GREAT idea man!!!
