#208 Skill Based
With all the changes to the game comming, how will guild wars maintain its individuality compaired to other games if they institute a grind process or water down the skills.
I suggest to anet that they should make the game with a character level cap of 20 and with a max armor set like GW1
Please keep PvP characters as it lets less experienced players still compete in PvP!
As a compromise between grinding and balanced pvp i propose that anet institutes a system like this: After a player reaches max level (20,25,30) they should be allowed to buy energy and health points with their experience. These extra points would have no effect in pvp situations. These extra points should not be used to buff skills which would enable some characters to solo extreamly hard areas in a short period of time.

I'd prefer a higher level cap for the sole reason of leveling up being exciting (mostly, there are many ways to avoid level grinding). Also a new system for armor would be welcome, I prefer to smack a few monsters around to get the gear I want. Farming ecto isn't horribly interesting.
Copying stuff from other, VERY SUCCESFUL games is not always a bad thing.
i stole that idea from EQ...
which was pretty successful...
GW is all about skill not grinding
i am all for sick looking armor skins but please keep them as a generic 60-80 armor rating
Meant to comment level cap a bit earlier: Lvl100 would be far too high. I started playing WoW when Burning Crusade was already out. Lvl70 seemed reasonable but once I got there, something seemed a bit off. Haven't even bothered with Wrath of the Lich King, my friend who recently quit, told me that stuff at lvl80 has just gone plain crazy.
As far as I've heard, having lvl60 was near perfect. So I would suggest lvl50-60 for GW. 20 is way too little, makes the whole leveling process kinda meaningless, especially when the game is ridicilously easy on lower levels.
As for having PvP characters, I second Roq's answer. I personally don't want to see the real dividing system seen in GW1. PvE commitment should be rewarded, even in PvP to some extent. When creating a PvP character, I personally feel very disconnected from it.
