Answer for: Guild Wars 2 Suggestions
#25 Guild Recruitment
Guild Recruitment should get a completely different approach in GW2. While people still will be able to add new members, it could be done in many different ways. One being the normal way from GW1, Another would be having a house in every town where you can make an add to all outposts/villages/towns in the game where your guild recruiting message comes up on a poster board. You activate the poster board and all the active posters is there. You can sort them in many ways and when you find a guild that you'd like to join you send them a message by filling in a form. These forms will then be found in the guildhall where the leader or an officer can pick it up and Accept or Deny your request to join. Guilds should also be character specific, and as a leader you could be able to assign your officers different titles.
I hope you get the main idea ^^

I agree with any system that would discourage shouts/spamming in outposts. I think we'll always have spamming, though, even if a good recruiting system exists.
I like the guild being account based, if you switch characters it should not change the people that you have chosen to ally yourself with. This also uselessly takes up guild space with 8 characters played by the same person.
Other ideas are great, there should be way more support since the game is called guild wars.
Wow this is a really cool idea Bethlen, really original. I didn't even think of anything close to what your suggesting. I would definitely love to see this implemented.
I think this a great idea too. Bethlen's guild membership houses in towns/outposts could have a dual purpose. i.e. if your character is already guilded you would enter your guild hall, but if not guilded you'd go into Bethlen's room full of guild ads.
Think I agree with Bethlen about builds being character based, rather than account based, because then you can have the option of joining a separate guild for PvP if you want to. That's an option I've wanted in GW1.
yeah thats a great idea a seperate area for the guild ads and have like a maximum of about 20 sentences at least and be able to put guild leaders and officers names on the ad so if there are any questions the person shopping for a guild could ask the officers and leaders
i agree guild recruitment was hell in GW1
I like it account based. I don't have time for more than one guild.
No one would be forcing you to join multiple guilds...
I think we should have a option to have it account or character based. It should not be too hard to do. I see a benefit to both.
When you create a new char or after entering the game on your alt have it ask what guild if any you want your character to join.
As for the slot in a guild for the same person. Just have it register to a primary ID for the main char for that guild. And alts be tied to that primary id.
the poster idea is magnificant that coupled with an auction house and a the party search option they already have would nearly stop all spamming and would greatly improve immersion and enjoyment from the game because it is really annoying people trying to sell or recruit and it just completely covers the chat box
