I think they did the best work with the original, it was after they gave up on developing skills, and released poorly supported additions that GW really went down hill. The content suggested in the additional chapters was definetly interesting and enjoyable, but they never maintained to skills neccessary to keep the overall gameplay satisfactory.
I think that isn't true, guild wars had fine idea's with they're latter expansions, I jus tthink that they set too high a bar to meet in their first release. Almost everything in proph was perfect, it was just huge. It has the most missions, plus pre-searing. It had the most lore, and in my opinion the hardest tasks. Guildwars just needs to rflect on this and improve the little shortcomings there are in GW2.
What I described applies directly to their lack of merger with the new classes and skills, even the first GW lacked some significant tactical options and gameplay which should be available to certain classes, but with all the additional classes in the expansion chapters, the balance was horrible and the skills were often abandon and unhomoginized with the rest of the gameplay.
I felt prophesies had terrible environments (compared to all other campaigns) and a slightly less than mediocre story. I'd put it above Factions (that story sucked) but bellow Nightfall and EotN.
Form me this was THEEEEE campaign
Proph was the first game i got of the "series"
i would argue it is also the best, maybe because it has a sense of home behind it for me
I loved the enviroments and it introduced my to my first REAL MMO experiance, well other then ragnarok
gotta say when i think Guild Wars i realy think the proph campaign
