At 2:06 there is what appears to be a "Thunderstorm" attack animation, which is a tenfold step up from the simple animations in the Original Guild Wars, i cant wait to see what other attacks, skills, and techniques look like. As for my feelings on the races, i agree with what another user said, and that is that the Charr look much rougher than before, which i like. One might say they strongly resemble the "Orcs" from WoW, or Warhammer, but i disagree, i feel though they are very aggressive, and savage, they hold a much higher inteligence than the orcs, they are almost like the dwarves and the orcs combined, having the size, and agression of the Orcs, but the ingenuity, and mechanical aptitude of the dwarves. but even those comparisons dont really do them justice, they are possibly the most uniqe original race ive seen in a long time. The Human race is too often depicted as the "peaceful" mediators between other races, i for once would like to see them depicted in a more aggressive, warmongering, light, or in an extremely isolated, xenophobic light. Its too easy to make humans out to be "The Good Guys" i want that distinction to be at least a little difficult to make, for once.
I really like the look, and feel of the Norn, Shapeshifting Giants, with a thick culture that strongly resembles that of the North American Indian/Alaskan Eskimo Tribes, but still carries a stong Nordic cultural feel, needless to say, they are a very complex species, and i cant wait to play them.
The Asura, feel like Danny Devito with Small Man Syndrome, and a Doctorate's Degree, and i find them to be extremely hard to like. When i think of Mechanical Masterminds, i think of the Obsessive Compulsive, garage tinkerer, not the Ivy League scholar, and i am surprised that 250 years later, their golems still look, and behave like a retarted kid in a trash can. I certainly expected much more sophistication in the golem design, especially with the addition of firearms to the game.
And Lastly, the Sylvari, initally i was very intrigued by the character concept, but as it turns out they are just plant based Elves, with a collective subconcious, and i was EXTREMELY unimpressed by the choice to use a british accent for the representing character's voice. But i would like to point out, that aside from the enemies, they are the ONLY race that we know almost nothing about, i was really hoping to see something that would indicate how they will play, aside from the large, "Tree Golem" that we see "Kathe" bring to life, we have almost no indication of their specialty, play style, etc. im really waiting for an in-depth explanation of them.
These are my thoughts on the races, feel free to express your opintions about my "review" of the races, but dont go saying that im wrong, or what not, these are my opinions, respect them, as i respect yours.
