What particular things do other MMOs have which Guild Wars lacks or has missing from the game?

Make sure to site a specific example and let us know what game it comes from.

This is different from simple suggestions for Guild Wars. This should be a list of common or well-used features that other MMOs have which Guild Wars lacks.

Mounts to Ride Whenever, Wherever

Leader! Most 1st Place Votes
There are mounts in many other MMOs that exist out there. It seems a bit silly that Guild Wars does not have any kind of a mount system.

It would go especially well considering dyes in the game. A mount with custom-colored saddles or gear would just be too awesome.

Not only are they neat status symbols, but they are highly functional in trying to quickly run from one place to another.

Being Able to Go Down Cliff/Hills

It's annoying to hit a slope in the game that is just a little too steep and find that you can't go down it.

World of Warcraft, for example, allows you to climb to the highest points of the world and jump off.

Yet Guild Wars complains at the simplest difference in angle from one slope to another.

Seamless regions

I don't necessarily mind the walled-off zones/instances in Guild Wars, but having seamless borders would be cool.

Example: Warhammer, Eve, W.o.W.?

Interactive Buildings and Scenery

You can't open doors and go inside buildings in GW. I'd like to see much more interaction with buildings and other scenery features in GW2 both in persistent areas and in instances. The environment in GW is a little like the painted backdrops in a theatre.

Auction House.

In many MMOs including WoW, and even the FREE Runescape, they have a very simply system for buying and selling items. However on Guild Wars buying and selling can be quite hectic. For example, if you look at the image provided, (it's an illusion! I actually dc'ed so I have been in Kamadan for LONGER than showed.) I have been trying to buy a simple +30 for spear. Sadly, it is so hard for the buyers and sellers to trade items (Me - a +30 for spear, and potential seller - 6k) because of the time and location restrictions. By having an auction house, players would not be as frustrated buying or selling items because of those restrictions. Thank you for listening :)

Trade Armor

I know that some people prefere costomization, but Ithink there should be both. Crafting armor and finding drops related are always interesting. Being able to uncostonmize and trade is nice as well.

I have seen some Dark Fall videos. Perhaps there can be some original ideas made from it. Strategy shooter game that looks like an rpg.

P.S. I wish people would quit trying to make GW into another WoW, or other MMO like games. Guild Wars is what it is. Yes it needs to upgrade some, but it will in GW2.

I think each game has it's good qualities, and what makes it good is all in the individual mind. Sometimes it is a shared thought what makes a game better, but there are Atari games that people still like to play. So my point is don't forget to 'enjoy' the game before you scrutinize it.

The thing is that mind set about wishing people would stop wanting to make GW more like WoW is the exact reason GW 1 never reached the acclaim it deserved. WoW is easy to get into and fun to play because of the community.

That said the GW 1 community is made up of people who solely care about the advancement of there own character.

WoW is a rich world its fun people play because its fun & easy to pick up and get into!

GW on the other hand is basically Diablo in 3D format..Its hack N Slash with some good strategy elements, that turn of casual gamers.

2 totally different types of games when you get down to it.

I love GW i think its a wonderful game and have got much enjoyment out of the series thus far. I can't wait until the world is open and I can explore every nook and cranny as well as finally climb a mountain top and swim in the oceans looking for easter eggs left by developers.

Well I hope that if they make a GW game exactly like WoW that players don't turn up on other games and say how horrible every one else is. I have not seen any other people but WoW players in any MMOs I have played making remarks of how it all sucks. Kinda is a jerk thing to do trying to spoil other folks fun.

Though I am glad that GW has better cartoon characters and no annoying repetitive voice phrases. I guess WoW is a good game for play style. WoW has it's good moments.

Hey found a couple fun videos about MMOS.
